Angling Report for July 27th 2005
Tony from Essex who is a regular visitor to Ireland was again able to put some great weights when he fished a number of venues around Longford and Strokestown areas, Bream, Roach, Hybrids, Rudd and some big Tench made sure this holiday was yet another to remember.
Kevin Lyons from Melview lodge guest house in Longford found time to get some fishing in himself putting together a fine weight, five of the Bream went to specimen size topping 9lbs. Kevin said he had pre-baited the swim twice before fishing it and when he got there and started fishing the action never stopped.
Due to the near perfect weather conditions all the lakes in and around Longford, Strokestown and Roosky are producing good nets of fish, some more so than others. This is the result of lack of bait going in due to the lack of anglers on the ground. If you want to increase your chances of a good bag get out and pre-bait a few times before fishing.
