Nigel Barnes from Preston Lancs with some good fish
Angling guest of Melview lodge Nigel Barns from Preston had a great start to his holiday after pre-baiting the night before. Nigel feeder fished at 25yards using caster and maggot cocktail and picked up seven Tench to 3lb 8oz and with some small Bream, Hybrids and skimmers put together a 60lb bag. Nigel commented that at times the rain and wind made it very difficult to fish but it was very enjoyable.
The recent change in the weather and temperatures has resulted in improved fishing conditions and better weights. The Strokestown lakes have been producing some good specimen fish however pre-baited swims have attracted a lot of pike so some bonus fish could be on the cards. Lakes in and around the north Longford area have started to produce some steady bags of fish also.
