Jimmy and Rene enjoyed a week’s Pike fishing with us at Melview Fishing Lodge. The fishing was quite good considering the bright, calm weather. I guided them on the first day to show them around the venue. We only had a few in the morning but it sprang to life in the afternoon producing some nice fish. I even managed to catch a few myself. The next few days they managed the boat for themselves and caught some good fish, but again mainly in the afternoon when things cooled down. The last day I guided them once again on a different venue and throughout the day we had fish and lost a good few more. In the late afternoon we fished some very deep parts of the Lough after spotting large shoals of bait fish, and this turned out to be the spot. We continued to troll the area again and again and every time we hooked up to a Pike, and at one stage both myself and Rene hooked up at the same time.
